I have been a math, computer, science geek all my life.
I grew up in the SF Bay area, and studied for a BS in Mathematics at Iowa State University. I worked in the finance industry doing statistical data analysis and computing, then I tried my hand at entrepreneurial computer software development. Now I am back in school for Civil Engineering. First I was at UC Davis for an undergrad degree. Then after working a while I moved to the LA area to do a PhD at USC. My topic is mechanics based risk models, and the physics of soil liquefaction.
I bike, hike, and take photographs. I read, and fool around with Free Software based computer systems.
